Matty took his first steps! He's been getting closer and closer and then today he took 5 steps in a row! Go go go! He even repeated it multiple times. Does that mean he's officially entering the "toddler" category?

Shopping Fool

Matty is a fantastic child--he really, really is and we realize and whole-heartedly appreciate it. On Friday morning, the two of us left the house at 7am to meet up with Aunt Susie to go Christmas shopping and returned at 5:45pm. It was a full day and Matty was a super trooper! He was amazing throughout all of the stores, dealing with obnoxious salespeople, dancing to the Christmas music, and enjoying the scenery. He waited patiently with Pop outside some crowded stores while I made purchases, picked out presents, smiled and clapped for people in line, and generally enjoyed the day. We even weathered two very, very, very dirty diapers that didn't phase him at all.

So, thank you Matty. I'll make sure to tell Santa that you have been one outstandingly good boy this year. :-)

Matty's New Friend

GG gave us this singing Santa to hang over a door knob and Matty absolutely loves him! He carried him all over the house and loves to dance along with Santa.

So Tired

Hmmm. Matty is being awfully quiet while I'm doing the dinner dishes. Wonder what he is doing...oh! First post-dinner high chair snooze. Guess he was one tired little boy :-)

Thanksgiving!

We had our first Thanksgiving at our house on Thursday and Matty's first Thanksgiving ever--lots of firsts! I think it went pretty well and Matty enjoyed all the company. We had a 27lb turkey, 15 side dishes, and 5 desserts--yummy! Of course, we took a ridiculous amount of pictures that you'll be seeing on the blog over the next week.

During a routine diaper change, Matty decided he had better things to do, so he escaped and started crawling all around the house. The fugitive baby was apprehended eventually and properly clothed once again.

We are teaching Matty that you need to remember to laugh. We are doing this by tickling him. His giggles are contagious!

Matty has his first tooth!! It's not fully in yet, but it broke through and hopefully is leading the way for the rest of his teeth! Very exciting! Now, he won't just have to gum those Cheerios at breakfast. :-)
