9 Months!

Matty had his 9 month check up today and he did great. He's meeting his gross motor milestones very well (great job crawling, standing, and cruising!) His next big goal is to start moving from baby mush to table food--Cheerios, eggs, pancakes--you better watch out!

Soy Sauce

Well, Matty has hit another milestone of sorts. This morning while exploring the house in his walker, he spent a lot of time in the kitchen. He figured out how to open the corner cabinet and pulled out the soy sauce. Maybe he was trying to tell me that he wants to try some dim sum for lunch. Oh dear. He also has been desperately trying to climb the stairs. His efforts so far have been thwarted by his mean Mommy.

New PJs

This is what happens when you send Daddy to the store for new PJs. Yes, you are seeing correctly, these are Matty's new superhero PJ's--"Daddy's Lil Sidekick". Complete with drawn on cape and boots.

Brendan got out of the hospital last night--yeah! They have a whole slew of information to sort through, but are happy to be out of the crazy hospital environment where ordering pancakes and bacon for breakfast means they deliver you a banana and syrup.

Quick Update

I don't have new pictures to post today since we've been on a crazy schedule for the past few days. Poor cousin Brendan is in the hospital (diagnosis: juvenile diabetes---come on pancreas!)

So, we'll just have a quick update and a look at two cute pics. Matty is getting chunky as he continues to gobble down the baby food. Speaking of chunky, he's supposed to start trying textured foods. The first time he tried my homemade applesauce didn't go so well. The applesauce and some other food decided they didn't want to stay in his tummy. It's not even really chunky, just not super-smooth like good old Gerber. But, I tried again and he managed to eat a big bowl of it...phew.

He's also crawling around really well and has begun to cruise along the furniture while standing. Matty will hold onto the couch to stand up, turn around, forget that he hasn't learned how to walk yet, and just let go! It's a nerve-wracking process.

I love that he has the exact same expression in both these pictures :-)

At the Farm

We went to the local farm to go apple picking this afternoon, but wouldn't you know, they ran out of apples yesterday! Apparently, all the spring rain caused only a 50% yield in their apple crop this year. So, we decided to go through the corn maze and take some fun pictures in the cut outs around the farm. I have some more cute pics I'll post tomorrow.

Ugh, green shirt and khakis again?

Matty disagreed with my choice of outfits for him. He managed to kick off his pants and get one arm out of his shirt. Oh dear.

Attack of the Laundry Basket!

Matty was playing with his favorite non-toy of the moment and flipped the laundry basket on top of himself. He found the whole thing rather funny. :-)
