Where Have You Been?

The blog took a brief hiatus while we ventured out West for a long weekend.  We spent some time in Colorado visiting friends and taking in the scenery.

Matty enjoyed flying...he passed some of the time by reading some classics:

A group of pirates walked by and caught Matty's attention.  Seriously, there were about 30 people dressed in pirate gear.

"Hey Matty--can we take some cute pictures for the blog?  How about sitting still in the gazebo for a photoshoot?"

The first few attempts to get the pictures did not go according to plan.  Matty had other ideas...

Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

We took a ton of great pictures over Labor Day weekend and are going to have a whole ton of great posts coming up, starting with this one! 

Before a cute pic, an observation:  Matty likes to eat. And when I say he likes to eat, I really mean he LOVES to eat.  He pretty much eats all day long and cheers whenever it's time for a meal or snack -- "hooray!".  For lunch, since he was so good running errands this morning, we stopped for McDonald's on the way home.  He ate all 4 of his chicken nuggets, all of his french fries, and a fruit leather strip for dessert.  I started cleaning out the pantry after we finished eating and put an old box of stale Wheat Thins on the floor.  Matty walked over, reached in, took a bite, and declared, "MMM!".  So, he had a bunch of Wheat Thins to top off his lunch.  Now, he's having a glass of milk. Mr. Bottomless Pit. :-)


Matty has a fantastic new shirt--it's a pictoral representation of the Banana-Banana-Banana-Orange knock-knock joke "Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?"

Must Read of the Summer

Matty's taking a break from playing to peruse one of his summer "must reads" -- Dr. Seuss's ABCs. 

And we all fall down!

Matty discovered that his Mickey Mouse ears give him just the right mixture of balance and silliness to spin and spin and spin and spin until....he falls down!  It's very important to have the mouse ears, though, because every time they fell off, he would stop, put them back on, and continue spinning!  Of course, we had to capture this move on video.  I hope you find it as hilarious as we did.

Teething Machine

Matty decided that it would just be better to get the rest of his teeth in all at once--why bother spacing them out?  So, to add to those 6 teeth he got back all those months ago, he's just been a one man teething machine. In the past week, he's broken through 2 bottom teeth and 4 molars, there's no telling where he'll stop!

Excuse me, Matty--can we get a good shot of those teeth? OK, so it's really hard to see, but if you look really closely, you can see a new one breaking through to the right of his bottom two teeth.  

How about the other bottom one?  Get out your magnifying glasses...there..right there!!  To the left of his two bottom teeth.

Matty, do you have any more to show us?  Ok, Mommy will stop torturing you for now. But mark my words--we will get a good picture of these teeth!!
