At the Farm

We went to the local farm to go apple picking this afternoon, but wouldn't you know, they ran out of apples yesterday! Apparently, all the spring rain caused only a 50% yield in their apple crop this year. So, we decided to go through the corn maze and take some fun pictures in the cut outs around the farm. I have some more cute pics I'll post tomorrow.

Ugh, green shirt and khakis again?

Matty disagreed with my choice of outfits for him. He managed to kick off his pants and get one arm out of his shirt. Oh dear.

Attack of the Laundry Basket!

Matty was playing with his favorite non-toy of the moment and flipped the laundry basket on top of himself. He found the whole thing rather funny. :-)

Bears on Pearl Street

We had lunch in Boulder on Pearl Street with Angus and Keri on Friday and then stopped by this cute bear statue for some pics. Matty had a blast--it even knocked his socks off (they just would not stay on!).

Colorado

Matty had quite an adventure last week--we took our first family trip out to Colorado! He saw the Rocky Mountains, toured Pearl Street in Boulder, and met lots of new friends.

The flight was phenomenal, with Matty in a great mood, acting like a well-seasoned traveler. He really does take after his Mommy :-) We overheard a few people in the security line say things like, "I hope we're not on their flight." But, we had faith in our little guy. He slept for 2.5 hrs on the flight out and 3 hrs on the flight back. After his super-snoozes, he was well rested and beyond happy. He looked around and was charming everyone he could see with his smiles. He didn't cry at all on either flight--go Matty! I did feel a little like "Monk", since we used disinfectant wipes on everything near us on the plane--hopefully it worked to avoid those germs.

This in-flight picture is a little fuzzy, but Matty was laughing at the air vents....

Thinking Outside the Box

Playing on a regular, old playmat on the floor? Been there, done that. What's the challenge? Where is the fun in that? Matty decided to take his playmat and, using his masterful rolling techniques, get a new perspective on play. You can see, he was VERY please with himself.

Last of the Summer sun and sand

Matty on his last beach day over the weekend. He was doing great posing for the picture, but then started to slip--good thing Brendan was holding on. Good thing summer is over, though, because all he wanted to do was roll off the blanket into the sand. When he got to the sand, he would scream because he got all sandy. Next summer will be a challenge!

Coffee Tables Rock

There is no doubt that Matthew has found out how fun it is to explore the house. He rolls, crawls, and flops all over the place. He decided that his toys were uninteresting at the moment, but being under the coffee table was the place to be!

On Sunday night, Matty took his first crawl forward. He's still figuring everything out, but he is increasingly on the move. Way to go!
